Hello American Girls and Families!

I know that a lot of you are anxious for more information about the Summer 2013 Teen Class - here is the scoop.

Tuesdays (5:00-7:00 PM)Lost & Foundling.  AGDT last performed this play in Spring 2010. Lost & Foundling is the story of a girl named Pryce who has spent her entire life living in a Price Mart store (think Walmart!). Here’s the description from the Dramatic Publishing website –

Unusual things don't usually happen at Price Mart, but at this Mega Price Mart a mega-unusual thing happened once: a little girl was born. Or left. Or got lost in the aisles and her parents never found her. Whatever it was that happened, it was her destiny to be discovered between Truck Mirrors and Oil Filters by some Price Mart associates. They name her Pryce and raise her. Her first word is "affordable." It's a good life at Price Mart, all things considered: clean, well-lit, lots of stuff at reasonable prices, but her discovery one day that there's a place called Lost and Found all the way on the other side of the store sparks restlessness and curiosity about where she came from. What follows is an epic journey of hilarious proportions as our intrepid heroine sets off alone down strange aisles, through unfamiliar sale zones, past new and threatening merchandise. Armed with only her wits and a celebrity magazine, will Pryce manage to evade dangerous pitfalls like the Demanding Shopper and the Neverending Line? Will she ever make it to the western edge of the store? And even if she does find the Lost and Found counter, will she ever uncover the truth about her real family? A comic and contemporary myth set in the recognizable world of changing rooms, free samples, and incandescent lights that never turn off, Lost and Foundling is a modern retail fairy tale about growing up, self-reliance, and big big savings.

The classes will begin on June 4 and run weekly through August 6. There are 11 spaces in this class.  There will be an additional dress rehearsal from 5-7pm on Thursday, August 8.

I would prefer for any student to only miss a maximum of 2 practices.  While it’s not a requirement, it would be best for everyone involved if the full class can attend the first practice on June 4.  This will be the day parts are chosen for the play.

The plays will be performed at Faith Baptist Church, and the final rehearsal (August 8) will be at the church as well.  The performance will be on Friday, August 9 at 7:00pm.

The girls will need to arrive at the church at 1:30 pm for a final dress rehearsal on the day of their play.  We will have dinner and have time to do everyone's hair and makeup before it's showtime!

COSTUME DAY will be on Saturday, July 13 from 11:00am-3:00pm.  However, this play is really easy to costume so the teens will not likely need to attend! Plan to find a plain black shirt and jeans for your teen to wear.

Classes will be held at my house in Lees Summit.  I will send directions to the enrolled students' families before the classes begin.

Pricing is as follows: $95 for one daughter, $90 each for two daughters.  The class cost covers: 26 hours of rehearsal time, one-on-one acting coaching, script, free admission for family and friends to the performance, most costume and prop expenses (with the exception of any personal items such as tights), and performance day dinner/snacks.

Registration/Payment Info (this has changed; please read):

To register for a class:

1.  Fill out the registration form – Click here.

2.  Wait for Confirmation Email.

3.  Once Confirmation Email is received, submit payment within 3 days.  Payment forms accepted are PayPal, Personal Check, or Cash.

*If you are paying by check, you will STILL fill out the registration form online.  There are no more paper registration forms!

*If I do not receive the tuition within three days of receipt of confirmation email, your registration will be bumped to the bottom of the class list (which in some cases will mean that it is no longer valid).

The full class fee is required with registration (if this is a problem, let me know and I’m sure we can work something out – it is a requirement due to problems I have had in past semesters).  Your registration and payment will hold your space in the class.  Note that the number of spaces is limited and will be filled first-come, first-serve, in the order I receive the registrations.  You can still email/call to ask about availability, but I can't hold spaces without your registration.

The registration deadline for these classes is Monday, May 20.  Click here to register for a class.
